Semi-serious gamer who's passionate about games, game design, writing, and who enjoys scratching the competitive itch a bit.
I'm not a crazy tryhard, and I have a laid-back attitude, but I try to take competitive games at least somewhat seriously.
I have no less than half a dozen game design projects I've started, and a few that are actually moving along, and one that is a mostly finished product. I want to learn programming so that I can design a couple video game ideas I have bouncing around, but I don't feel like I have the time to learn it very well right now.
Q1 Are you actively looking to create a video game?
Yes "I would love to, anyway. I have two very strong ideas percolating. One of them is an interactive narrative, so hopefully requires a bit less technical expertise. The other is a Metroidvania that may take me a while to learn how to make"
Q2 Are you actively looking to create a tabletop game?
Yes "I've made a card game from scratch, and I have a couple boardgame ideas that are in the works."
Q3 Do you actively play games on 'retro' consoles?
Yes "SNES, N64, Gamecube mostly"
Q4 Do you play games competitively?
Yes "Destiny 2, Heroes of the Storm, PUBG. Note: "competitively" is loose here. I don't play them in a remotely professional context, but I play their respective competitive modes"
Q6 Do you stream online?
No
Q7 Do you prefer to play with people online or in person?
No preference "I do both. We have LAN parties every once in a while here for Destiny 2, but I mostly think online is more convenient"
Q8 Do you compete in gaming tournaments?
No, but I want to "I have in the past."
Q9 Do you prefer multiplayer or singleplayer?
No preference "I get a lot of enjoyment from both in different ways"
Q10 Do you want to play games all day every day?
Yes "If I was independently wealth, absolutely. Someday I may be able to settle for professionally designing indie games, but until then, I just game in my spare time."
